Elders Speak on COVID, The Past, and Our Future

Upper Tanana Elders discuss vaccination, the Coronavirus pandemic, and their historical knowledge of living through past public health crises. The Tuberculosis epidemic ravaged Native Villages throughout Alaska and living through that historical context provides insight that our elders share into how we might navigate this uncertain time we find ourselves in now, and how we might move forward together.

This project is a sponsored by the Communities for Immunity Program.

Healy Lake Village Council is proud to partner with Communities for Immunity to work within the community to increase COVID Vaccinations within our tribe, and to promote a healthier community.

Meicey Memorial Library

In honor of the late Melissa Erickson, who lived a rural existence in Healy Lake and loved the land, her family, and books.

We have accepted and processed more than 950 books, movies, and games and have assembled them along with community-access computers in the office to create Healy Lake's first-ever library!

Our Public Catalog Site is now live and can be browsed online.
